ditzydarry is the best friend you never see. Currently enjoying a skinny spicy marg at the Hampton Social, but most himself surrounded by his closest friends at The Courtesy. Any trendy restaurant with craft cocktails will do, honestly.
The usual ditzydarry escape is his local Whole Foods. There, he’s just Darry. Dressed in all black, his favorite cashiers watch him hunt for organic berries and clearance champagne. Maybe he’s at The Enzian just a few blocks away, enjoying Or perhaps at the Enzian, a local arthouse cinema just a few blocks away, enjoying a cult classic.
ditzydarry is a walking contradiction. Because sometimes, in the late evening hours, you’ll find him accompanied at the local gay club, feeling his oats, and engaging in Charli XCX activities.
But the truth is ditzydarry is a universe inside my head.
White Roses & Honey, created by me, for us. I’m Darry—mostly known as Ditzy Darry, but here I’m Writzy Darry. It’s the version of me who expresses feelings through script. I’m inspired by a vast variety of art, especially cinema, and I’m obsessed with the truths we hide behind our smiles.
I’ve spent nearly 15 years writing my way through youth: horror fiction, film and TV essays, feature journalism, and Carrie Bradshaw-style personal essays. Now, in my mid-20s, stories feel a little more Candace Bushnell. I take darkness out on dates and turn it into a white rose with gorgeous, tender petals. An alluring, sweet-as-honey smell, leaving you stunned when you realize the thorns throughout.
I’ve created a space that holds intimate reflections on the memories that linger, the media that moved me, and the moments that changed me. Some pieces are erotic and unbuttoned, while some are romantic and hopeful, others are catastrophic in the most beautifully sad way—but all are honest. I don’t write to be perfect; I like it raw.
If you find yourself in these words, I hope you feel less alone and braver about loving your own mess—with just a touch of honey.
